LA based artist Helen Phillips has a distinct effortless style. She believes a compelling canvas starts with a beautiful complexion. It's this signature that allows her to exhibit fine brushwork and attention to detail with a playful eye. Helen travels extensively throughout the US during the year. When she is not traveling she enjoys spending her free time in Los Angeles hiking, and hanging with her beloved pets and dear friends.
Helen came to makeup artistry through a lifelong interest in art and people. Her childhood was spent in the museums and galleries of Washington D.C. and New York. She studied Psychology and Studio Art in Boston and at SACI in Florence, Italy. Starting out at Sephora, Helen fell in love with makeup artistry: It perfectly combined her two passions--a strong artistic drive and the desire to interact with others. With characteristic fervor, Helen followed her newfound passion to Paris, where she spent a year studying at the Make Up For Ever Academy.
Returning to the US, Helen has focused primarily on video, how-to's, runway, editorial print, and the images displayed in Sephora Stores and on sephora.com. Helen has led shows at New York Fashion Week and has been featured in Vogue, Seventeen Magazine, Brides, People Watch, Redbook, LOULOU, Style.com, Refinery 29, and Bustle. She has been on national television for E!, Extra, Access Hollywood, CBSLA, and the Oxygen channel. Helen was on Sephora's PRO Team, an elite group of artists from 2011-2017, she is currently the National Artist for Sephora Collection.
